Web Accessibility Statement for Nottingham Trent University Jobs Site

This accessibility statement applies to Nottingham Trent University applicant tracking system delivered and supported by Jobtrain NTU | Jobs | Search here for your perfect career - Jobs Page.

This website is run by Jobtrain. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website with the use of website accessibility plugin software Recite Me. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Utilise the assistive toolbar to navigate.
  • Zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • Navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software.
  • We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Compliance Status

The website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard where we have content that is not yet accessible, due to the non-compliances listed below:

Non-accessible Content

WCAG 2.4.1 Use of Colour and Contrast

Some colour combinations used on our site do not meet colour contrast ratio standards making it difficult for users with visual impairments. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criteria 1.4.3: Contrast minimum (AA). We are reviewing our vacancies pages to identify instances where contrast issues exist, and we are actively working to resolve any issues by January 2025.

WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard Accessibility

Some of the features on the webpage cannot be fully accessed utilising the keyboard. Accessibility changes are being made to ensure all aspects of the webpage including the hamburger menu can be accessed and can be expected by October 2024.

WCAG 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value

An issue has been found with Deque Axe, as the ARIA hidden element is currently focusable or contains focusable elements. Accessibility changes are being made to ensure all aspects of the webpage and can be expected by October 2024.

WCAG 2.1.1 PDF Documents

Some of our PDF documents found on the NTU Jobs site are only partially compliant due to screen reader being unable to be utilised throughout the whole document. We are currently undertaking work to review these documents and remove the accessibility issue.

What We’re Doing to Improve Accessibility

We have an ongoing programme of work that will help us to reach compliance prioritising accessibility fixes. We aim to have all elements completed by January 2025.

Nottingham Trent University is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
