The Centre for Student and Community Engagement (CenSCE) advances the NTU widening participation and social mobility agendas, aiming to make higher education a realistic option for a broader range of people with the ability to succeed. We have a national reputation for innovation and quality, and act as NTU's central coordination service for schools, colleges and community groups.
CenSCE’s Transition Team is looking to recruit a confident, effective, communicator and project coordinator to join their busy team in the role of Transition Coordinator. The successful candidate will be expected to design and deliver programmes, events, and activities to support the transition process for students commencing their studies, ensuring particular focus upon underrepresented groups.
The post holder must be passionate about supporting underrepresented groups within higher education, highly adept in engaging, empathising with, and guiding cohorts of students, and have excellent project/event management and presentation skills. Other responsibilities will include supporting colleagues with the development of existing NTU Welcome programmes of activity, as well as collecting and analysing data, and planning evaluation strategies.
Candidates should be educated to degree level, and have experience working with students or young people in an educational or training context. They must have a proactive and flexible approach to their work, together with the ability to prioritise their own workload, and must be able to demonstrate they have the qualities we seek for this role of supporting students as they transition to university.
