This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join Nottingham Law School’s Legal Advice Centre, the UK’s first fully-regulated teaching law firm wholly integrated within a Law School. The multi award winning Centre provides a not-for-profit service to individuals, businesses, organisations and community groups over a number of areas of advice, representation, and outreach activity. In the last five years, the Centre has recovered over £4 million in compensation/benefit for our clients, and has created outstanding opportunities for hundreds of students.
We are looking to appoint a highly experienced Welfare Benefits Casework Supervisor to help support and develop our thriving firm. The successful applicant for this post will have a proven track record of handling a substantial caseload within the Welfare Benefits sector, with experience of both supervision and training. The post will contribute to the development and delivery of the Centre’s strategic and operational plans with responsibility for the Welfare Benefits service area. This will include ensuring compliance with SRA and University governance, policies and procedures and the provision of an excellent customer service to clients, business partners and students and provide strategic input into the development of the profile and reputation of the Centre both internally and externally. The post involves close working and collaboration with academic colleagues, particularly, relating to the delivery of modules involving Centre placements. The post holder will report directly to the Head of the Legal Advice Centre.
