Nottingham Trent University is determined to improve the graduate employment outcomes for all of its students; we continue to deliver a wealth of innovative curricular and extracurricular opportunities to our students and have made considerable progress over the last few years; but there is still much to be done to achieve our ambitions.
Intrinsic to our agenda is the role of the School Employability Managers (SEMs) within each academic School. Since this role was introduced the SEMs have been instrumental in developing the employability offer across the university along with specific School and subject based employability interventions.
The role provides an essential conduit between the employability teams and the School through school management teams, course leaders and academic colleagues and it is these relationships and influence within respective schools that is critical to the success of the role. In this role academic / industry related credentials are key, therefore the equivalent of 0.2 FTE of the SEMs hours are allocated to supporting Law School based, academic related duties.
The Law School is currently achieving strong results in relation student employment outcomes; however, this post will be focused on elevating this work to the next level, with a particular focus on continuing to enhance future work both in the curriculum and extracurricular related activities and supporting both student and employer engagement.
Applications are sought from appropriately qualified and experienced individuals, who share our passion for employability and who have some leadership and strategic level experience. We are seeking someone special who can help build our reputation both internally and globally with employers and who can continue the work to improve both the short and longer term outcomes for our students within the Nottingham Law School. If you have an excellent understanding of the graduate and post graduate employment market for law students and strong knowledge of the different routes into legal practice this could be the role for you.
We are open to applications from the following types of positions; legal graduate recruiters, senior careers consultants specialising in the legal field and other qualified legal professionals with knowledge of the Higher Education sector and a passion for helping raise standards of the future workforce.
