At Nottingham Trent University, we’re proud of being one of the UK’s most innovative and inclusive higher education institutions. We’ve recently been awarded with several awards highlighting our excellent work:

  • 2017 University of the Year (Times Higher Education awards)
  • Modern University of the Year (Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018)
  • our Gold award in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework.

We’re now looking for a Head of Academic Development to help us continue our legacy. In this role, you’ll lead strategic developments for learning and teaching across the University. Crucially, you’ll make sure the curriculum is sector-leading, inclusive and contributes to successful student outcomes. You’ll use your creativity, communication and collaboration skills to drive genuine change – both academically and socially.

At NTU, you’ll innovate. You’ll broaden the possibilities for our colleagues and students. And you’ll lead the enhancement of pedagogy, course design and learning environments. Working within the Centre for Academic Development and Quality, you’ll lead department and team planning, making sure we deliver the effective service the University needs.

With experience of leading a highly performing service team (ideally in the context of higher education), you’ll thrive at an exceptional university. But just because you’ll be surrounded by a supportive and expert team, doesn’t mean the role won’t be challenging. In fact, your knowledge of learning, assessment and curriculum design will help us reach new standards. And your different strategic approaches will take us even further.

Nottingham Trent University prides itself on being an inclusive employer and encourages applications from candidates who represent the diversity of our local communities and wider society.

To apply, please provide a full CV and covering letter outlining how you feel your skills and experience meet the essential requirements for this role.
