The overarching purpose of the role is to deliver a service, which promotes a safe and secure environment for the estate and its community, which includes students, staff and visitors. It is essential that you possess the ability to form and maintain highly effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You must have a track record of developing and implementing practical solutions for strategic and operational change.
Operationally, you will have lead accountability for the areas of security, reception, postal and car parking.
You will lead and manage a team of 75 people, across three sites, this requires a logistical and highly organised approach to allocate resources with security coverage required 24/7. You will manage their performance, encourage and inspire them to deliver excellent service.
We are looking for an individual who has the ability to deal calmly, tactfully and diplomatically with challenges whilst having the tenacity to ensure policies and procedures are implemented and enforced on a consistent basis. You will be able to win the co-operation of others through motivation and enthusiasm in order to deliver positive results.
You will have accountability for significant budget so significant experience of successfully managing large budgets would be essential.
In addition to the reactive elements of the role, you will have the ability to devise solutions and continuously seek to improve working practices and processes in order to enhance efficiency, safety and well-being.
