We are seeking to recruit teaching assistant/laboratory demonstrators, who will be available to work throughout the academic year, starting in September 2022, and will be paid on an hourly basis (up to a maximum of 100 hours per annum).

Within the Engineering team, we provide our students with ample opportunity to gain practical skills with laboratory sessions in the Engineering Building (Clifton campus). In order to ensure that we provide an excellent student experience, we support these sessions with the use of demonstrators who offer support and advice to the students throughout the laboratory sessions. You will work under the direction of a module leader and other academics leading the laboratory session in delivering high quality demonstrating to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students.  Duties will include assisting the academic staff in running the class – offering advice and support to students, liaising with technical staff and marking where required.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate ideas of a complex or technical nature to students effectively, have sound knowledge of the particular subject area.
