Research Fellow in Biomechanics and Human Movement
£31,607 - £36,371 per annum (pro rata)
Fixed term contract for 24 months
About the Role
Are you an aspirational researcher with a background and strong interest in the biomechanics of human movement? Are you passionate about using biomechanics and motor learning to understand health, performance and injury?
In this position, you will help drive a programme of research around Biomechanics- and Ecological Dynamics-related projects. Your work will include lab-/field-based data collection, data analysis and programming (e.g. Matlab, Python and/or R), literature reviews, writing publications and mentoring staff and students. You will have an established background in the biomechanics of human movement, and experience with motor learning - ideally Ecological Dynamics and non-linear dynamics analysis.

About Us
The Department of Sport Science resides within the School of Science and Technology on the Clifton Campus and there are excellent collaborative opportunities with colleagues in Biosciences including the John Van Geest Cancer Research Centre, Chemistry and Forensics, Computing and Technology, Engineering and in Mathematics and Physics. Nottingham Trent University has a long and established history for delivering sport-related programmes. Currently the Department comprises 55 academic staff and 54 PhD research students, as well as large undergraduate and taught postgraduate cohorts. The Department is home to the Sport and Human Performance Enhancement (SHAPE) Research Centre. SHAPE provides a structured and vibrant research environment in which to investigate the biological, physical, psychological and societal impact of sport and exercise for health, well-being and human performance across the lifespan. Research in the Centre draws on key areas of social and human movement sciences to advance knowledge, policy and practice in a variety of populations and communities of interest. With two well-equipped biomechanics laboratories, the British Olympic Association approved environmental chamber, the recently refurbished performance analysis suite, four physiology laboratories and a neuromuscular performance laboratotory, we offer a friendly environment of excellence and invite you to join us.
