Research Fellow in Meta Materials & Manufacturing

Salary: £33,045 - £38,026 per annum

Full time/ 12-month Fixed-term contract until June 2027

About the Role

The 4D Materials and Printing Lab in the Department of Engineering at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Research Fellow for the Meta-Shoes project funded through the EPSRC EMERGE RehabTech PBIAA Award. This Feasibility Impact Primer project is led by Nottingham Trent University in partnership with NHS Nottingham University Hospitals.

The project explores the development of advanced metamaterial-based wearable devices enabled by additive manufacturing to support next-generation rehabilitation technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, modelling, 3D printing and experimental validation of customised metamaterial structures, working at the interface of engineering, healthcare innovation and translational research.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to work within NTU’s 4D Materials and Printing Lab and collaborate with clinicians and external stakeholders to develop prototype solutions with real-world healthcare relevance..
