Retail Operations Manager

Grade I (£48,117 - £57,418 p.a. pro rata)

37 hours per week; working hours between 07:30 and 18:00

This post is primarily based at our city campus but covers all campuses

About the Role

  • This role reports to the Head of Retail Operations Manager and is responsible for the service at all 4 campuses, currently comprising 15 outlets, which are operated by a team of 45. We operate over 7 days a week so a flexible approach to working hours, and location, is essential. The role offers some flexibility in working but is primarily based on site, particularly during the term time periods.
  • Ideally, you'll have worked in a multi-site, fast paced retail catering operation, we offer a range of modern food and beverage concepts, including barista style cafes, 'Deli' bars, 'Grab and Go' pods alongside a variety of outlets serving freshly prepared hot dishes.
  • You will develop this offer in line with market trends and be proactive in promoting retail services and develop strategic initiatives to deliver a high quality and high value service.
  • You will be a friendly, organised and approachable person who strives to deliver and promote fantastic customer service and operational excellence.
  • Key duties include the leadership and management of our team, ensuring effective recruitment and performance management to maintain service standards.
  • Budget management skills in order to maximise sales opportunities, whilst ensuring efficiency of resources and processes in all aspects of service delivery, are required.
  • You will need to expedite a range of administration duties to ensure compliance of both university policy and all legal requirements regard food safety legislation.
