Hourly Paid Lecturer - Chemistry and Forensics 


£48.53 per direct teaching hour, with the number of hours required and the days of the week may vary.

A flat rate of £19.41 per hour will be paid for completing one of the following elements of the schedule; teaching, preparation and marking. 

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit hourly paid lecturers who are available to work during the academic year and will be paid on an hourly basis with expertise in:

  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Inorganic Chemistry
  • Physical Chemistry


The successful candidates will join the thriving and innovative Department of Chemistry & Forensic Science which is responsible for teaching and research in chemistry and forensic science at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  

Working during the academic year, and under the direction of a Principal lecturer, you will deliver high quality teaching and support to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students and will be paid on an hourly basis. Duties will include the preparation, delivery, and marking of student work where required. You will be expected to run seminars/workshops or laboratory classes face to face with some opportunities to deliver lectures. On-line learning and assessment is also currently in use on our courses.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate ideas effectively using a variety of teaching methods and have detailed knowledge of the particular subject area. The successful applicant must demonstrate commitment to teaching to students within our programmes at BSc, and Masters levels.
